Foundation Home

Founded in 2004, the Needham B. Broughton Capital Foundation is a non-profit corporation that provides funding for projects at Broughton High School that enrich the educational experience of students and faculty and enhance the campus and facilities.

The Foundation works closely with other Broughton support organizations such as the PTSA, the Academic Booster Club and the Caps Club, to fill the gaps created by diminishing public investments in education.  Rather than focus on one area of the student or faculty experience though, the Foundation funds programs that resonate across the spectrum of the Broughton student and faculty experience.  Initiatives supported by the Foundation range in focus from academics to arts to athletics to beautification to teacher retention and beyond.

Since its inception, the Foundation has funded more than $310,000 in supplies, technology, tools and continuing education opportunities used to enhance classroom instruction and the entire Broughton experience.  In addition, the Foundation has awarded teachers over $44,000 in recognition of excellence in instruction.

During the economic challenges of the past few years, the Foundation has not aggressively pursued new contributions and has instead relied upon the very generous contributions made during the Foundation’s first few years of operations. However, we are now looking to infuse new energy into our efforts to ensure the Foundation is sustainable for the benefit of this current and future Broughton generations.

We hope you’ll assist these efforts by supporting our upcoming Fall 2015 Soiree on November 19th at the Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh.  Please visit our Fall 2015 Soiree page for additional information.

TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE.  DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER 9TH.
